क्या आपको सचमुच रावण जैसा भाई चाहिए?

एक संदेश वर्षों से फॉरवर्ड हो रहा है जिसमें कुछ स्त्रियों को रावण जैसा भाई चाहिए । *मेरा दावा है कि जिन स्त्रियों ने रामायण का अध्ययन किया है वे सपने में भी रावण जैसा भाई नहीं चाहेंगी ।* आइए देखें रावण का वास्तविक चरित्र ।

1. रावण वही व्यक्ति था जिसने अपनी बहन शूर्पनखा के पति विद्युत झीव का वध किया था । तब सूर्पणंखा ने अपने ही भाई को श्राप दिया कि, तेरे सर्वनाश का कारण मै बनूंगी..!! *ऐसा था रावण और शूपर्णखा का प्रेम* । श्रीराम पर आक्रमण उसने शूर्पनखा के मुख से माता सीता के सौंदर्य का वर्णन सुनकर वासना के वशीभूत होकर किया ।
2. एक गरीब ब्राह्मणी, “वेदवती” के रूप से प्रभावित होकर जब रावण उसे बालों से घसीट कर ले जाने लगा तो वेदवती ने आत्मदाह कर लिया..और वो उसे श्राप दे गई कि तेरा विनाश एक स्त्री के कारण ही होगा..!!! वास्तविक कथाओं के अनुसार रावण एक बलात्कारी था ।
3. रावण ने अनेक ऋषिमुनियों का वध किया, अनेक यज्ञ ध्वंस किये, ना जाने कितनी स्त्रियों का अपहरण किया..यहां तक कि स्वर्ग लोक(कुछ विद्वानों के अनुसार हिमाचल)की अप्सरा “रंभा” को भी नहीं छोड़ा..!!*
4. कोई कहता है कि रावण अजेय था...
जी नहीं.. श्री राम के अलावा उसे राजा बलि, वानरराज बाली , महिष्मति के राजा कार्तविर्य अर्जुन और स्वयं भगवान शिव ने भी हराया था..!!
5. अपनी बहन के परपुरूष को भोगने के लिए उसका समर्थन करना एक अच्छे भाई का चिह्न कैसे हुआ ?
6. यदि रावण सचमुच वीर था तो श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण जी को धोखे से दूसरी ओर भेजकर माता सीता का अपहरण क्यों किया ।
7. एक ओर महाझूठ कि रावण से माता सीता को कभी स्पर्श नहीं किया । क्या रावण ने उनका अपहरण बिना स्पर्श किये किया । वैसे भी रावण ने स्वयं महापार्श्व को अपने पिछले कुकर्मों के कारण दिए गए ब्रह्माजी के श्राप के कारण स्वयं को बलात्कार में असमर्थ बताया, जिसके कारण वह सीता माता के साथ कुछ गलत करने में असमर्थ था । अपनी इसी नपुंसकता के कारण वह कुछ गलत नहीं कर सका, किसी सदाचार के कारण नहीं ।

जहाँ तक माता सीता के वन जाने का प्रश्न है तो अधिकतर विद्वान रामायण के उत्तर कांड को बाद में जोड़ा हुआ मानते हैं जिसमे माता सीता के वन जाने का वर्णन है, अर्थात् इस प्रसंग के होने को ही गलत मानते हैं । यदि आप इसे न भी मानें तो भी रावण के ऊपर लिखे महादोष रामायण में स्पष्ट लिखे हैं जिसकी अनुसार रावण अपनी बहन के पति का हत्यारा, एक बलात्कारी, एक अत्याचारी, एक कायर और एक भगोड़ा था । क्या बहनें ऐसा भाई चाहेंगी ? जय श्री राम । दशहरे की हार्दिक शुभ कामनाएं ।

Who Is ‘Shudra’ according to Swami Dayananda

The word ‘Shudra’ has been a subject of dispute since the time when some reformers started ridiculing the cast system. Of course, the present day cast system cannot be accepted. Swami Dayanand Saraswati is one of the names who fought against the prevalent system of his time.  But, he also indicated the evidences, which had shown that the cast system was based on gun karma svabhava (quality, deeds and nature) of a person.

But, here I found some gentlemen quoting a line from Satyarth Prakash, one of the popular treatises of Dayananda, in which he said that Shudra should serve other varnas, and trying to prove him a castist. But, perhaps they forgot to read the other part of his book, in which he clearly said that a Shudra can become a Brahmin and similarly a Brahmin can become a Shudra according to the deeds. A long description has been written by him to prove that the varna system is according to deeds not according to birth. According to Satyartha Prakasha and his other books, Shudra is a person who is not able to do the mental work (which can be from any family) but can do the physical work. About other varna, Brahmin is the person who is learned, Kshatriya is the person who is warrior and Vaishya is the person who has the ability to do the business. A Brahmin’s son or daughter can be Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya or Shudra, and similarly the child of other persons of other varnas can be of any varna. The person who has the physical ability and not the mental efficiency often serves the persons with mental ability, and the same thing Swami Dayanand described about Shudra.

So, the Shudra according to Swami Dayanand has nothing to do with its pet definition. It is Arya Samaj founded by him where Shudra can also become a Pandit.  

Honesty Is First Prerequisite to Spread an Ideology

“Honesty is the best policy”, this English proverb has been read by most of the people who have studied this language. But there is a question what honesty actually is. Is it just honesty of money? No, but it has a vast meaning. The honesty in thoughts is the first thing to be followed. I am not saying to reveal every thought in front of everyone. Of course, we need to hide some things for our own sake or for preventing the society from upheavals.

On Facebook, I am witnessing the views of certain people who want to spread a certain ideology – the Hindutva ideology. Well, I have also supported this ideology at certain instance wherever it is discussed intellectually. But, I am surprised to find some people on Facebook, who are willing to spread this ideology vaguely just showing some zeal. But, suppressing some logics and promoting a few points will not take anywhere to these people. For promoting the ideology in a proper manner, you are required to accept criticisms also by putting some of your emotions on the other side and also discard some of the things like a true Yogi does.
